i know this had been done before but i wanna put a spin on it. Im looking at NOS dacs that are non usb. I can see where dacs would go leaps and bounds over sound cards especially ones inside PCs with alot of stuff causing interference. Now, how about CD/dvd players? My cheap $150 dvd player sounds better than my x-fi when i had it. Even both using the same cd, the dedicated cd player was just some much more clear and black. However, how will dacs stack up against dedicated players?
Will say $200 dacs own players up to $500? will a stello own a g08? im thinking about skipping the transport/dac/amp route and just going high end player and amp. Im thinking about a dac 60 or a dac-ah. I dont know if i wanna go all out and get a modded dac 60 so i can do a dac60 vs da02 or if i just wanna get my feet wet with a dac-ah and do a dac-ah vs zhalou. Or maybe i should just skip all that crap and just get a nice rega player or something.
