I am starting a mod of a VALAB NOS "Luxury" version DAC. I am trying to find a "DAC for Dummies" type of book or articles.

I am confused with how the re-clocker and clock circuits work in relation to a DIR9001 chip.

I am an EE but this stuff is all new to me.

Any help out there?

Thanks,

You probably want to post this in the DIY section. Maybe a mod can move it.

You don't need to use a re-clocker before feeding S/PDIF into the DIR9001. But if you wanted to, then a re-clocking module would take S/PDIF input and also output S/PDIF. There are some S/PDIF receiver chips that function in this mode and you can just read the data sheet to figure out how to use them.
