I dusted off my Mjolnir 2 after 4 years in the closet and am enjoying it with my HD6XX.

Right now, I'm using the SE input, being fed from the pre-out of a Devialet Expert 400.

It might be nice to have a balanced DAC to stack under the Mjolnir 2.

The form factor of the Schiit Gungnir matches perfectly.

The Modius measures great and has the AES input I could use, as well, instead of the BNC input of the Gungnir.

The only downside to the Modius is that it isn't stackable with the Mjolnir 2.

But is the Gungnir obsolete?

Obsolete? Hang out at the Gumby/Gungnir threads and ask that question.

In short - no

Has a plethora of ways to hook in, balanced out, with a very analog signature.
