What DAC (up to say $450) do you think is most complementary to the sound sig of a tube-based HPA like the Darkvoce 336i?

I read Non-OS DACs tend to be "natural" with a sound lower end while sacrificing some detail. As this description pretty much fits the amp's sound as well I thought the additive effect could be detrimental. No?

On the other hand do you think the sometimes brighter, extremely detailed sound sig of some oversampling DACs (at least that's mostly what I read about them) would synergize better with the tube amp stage, making the result less analytical and fatiguing?

Although mention of this basic problem is scattered across various posts I didn't find a dedicated thread so I gave it a try...

Well you could choose DIY route.
I have DIY nonOS DAC and I'm pretty happy.
It was around $100 total. Has optical/coax in.

I'm waiting for my DV 336i so I'll post impressions.

Or you could get Chinese Zhaolu (sp) for examle.
There are several people here with that combination I think.
