I recently got a E-MU 0202 DAC and it sounds pretty darn good

. The 0202 comes with its own ASIO implementation and ASIO 4 All doesn't seem to work. I have a question about sampling rates.

No matter what sampling rate I choose for the 0202, Mp3's with different sampling rates continue to work. So does this mean that the DAC can upsample/downsample? If so, how much does it affect the output of 44.1khz mp3s upsampled to say 48/192.. etc ?

Following on the last question, is it better to set the DAC on 192? or on 44.1/48 so that its close to the sampling rate of my mp3s

Appreciate any input.
Thx !

The 0202 clocks its DAC to the that of the source music, especially if used in ASIO mode.

Regarding the best sample rate, I prefer to keep my files at their original sample rate but there are many who feel a higher sample rate offers more "analogue" sound. Let your ears decide.
