Im trying to fill a big gap in my pc sound.
currently i have too much spent on headphones and not enough on the source like a noob.
im running a crappy maudio card, from it to an old pioneer reciever (early 90s not vintage), and im using the headphone jack on it.

i have dt 770s 2005 32 ohm, srh840s, m50s.
im considering:
A.  starting with the  fiio E7 and eliminating the crappy sound card and running the E7 just as DAC to the pioneer.
B.  Fubar 3
C. Maverick D1 DAC to the Pioneer
or
D.  Maverick A1 hybrid DAC/Amp and getting rid of the crappy sound card and the pioneer.
eidt: almost forgot! or the Asus Xonar STX or some other varient

thoughts or other recs would be greatly appreciated!

really the M50s sound fine, but the 770s and the 840s seem to be showing me some flaws in my system.

I would start with a DAC/amp combo since it's the most budget friendly.

That way you can use a cheap sound card with optical or coaxial out if your motherboard doesn't already have it.
