I love my little audioengine d1 so far and have had it for almost a year. Maybe my hearing has been getting better over time as I've really started to get into better headphones, music, etc. 
On some tracks I've noticed when the music is starting up I hear a slight hissing. I've used multi headphones and hear it on all of them. The music is at 320 kbps so I am not sure if it is the recording of the albums or if it is the dac. 
 
Any suggestions/help would be great.

Have you tried pausing the music and listening for the hiss? If it's there it is the DAC, otherwise it is probably the recording.

Very true, and there is no hissing, just dead silence when the music is paused. Which is weird cause I own a lot of higher quality music, even tested this with MOG (which is supposed to be really good) and it still does the hiss...guess its just the music...le sigh
