First of all for 50 its not really worth doing.  Second of all you probably mean DAC/AMP combo since you really shouldnt run off of just a DAC.  You need to up the budget to get anything worth while.....

Here is very nice one for $60, a MUSE TDA1543 X4. There is a big thread on this DAC. I use a modded version of this DAC more than my other more expensive ones. Very musical; natural sounding and non-fatiguing. Awesome DAC for the price.

I would recommend avoiding NOS DACs like the one above like the plague.

I wouldn't avoid it like the plague at all. For what the op wants to spend, this would be without a doubt one of the best options around. The are many threads backing this up. If the budget was $500, it would be different.
The Zero dac is also a great sounding dac/amp and sells for abut $130 on ebay. I would recommend that highly for the money. Powered my hd650's suprisingly well. Awesome bass too.

NOS DACs are never a good idea at any conceivable pricepoint IMO. The amount of effort the designer has to put in to overcome the giant self-imposed stumbling block that is forgoing oversampling is vanishingly unlikely to be present in a $50 design. Even with more expensive designs, not oversampling makes absolutely no sense at all.
