Headphoneus Supremus
Ok guys, so I finally saved up enough money (worked this month) and I'm ready to upgrade my system.
My current setup consists of PC lossless >> project dac + headphone amp connected via Audioquest diamondback RCA cables >> Sennheiser HD 650s with Blue dragon cable, Grado SR325is, Akg K701
I plan on buying the Woo Audio WA6SE with upgraded tubes (sofia princess 274B i believe) (i have researched long and hard into this and have totally made up my mind on all this)
the biggest trouble i have with is the DAC.
I have narrowed it down to 3 options.
Rega DAC (have heard great things about it, seems to be a warmer sounding DAC with great quality)
PS Audio - Digital Link III (heard its good, but someone told me its outdated and beaten by newer DACs)
Musical Fidelity M1 DAC - don't know much about this but i could try it out and would be easy-to-get, dont know how it compares to the others.
I have also considered the Benchmark Dac1 but due to it having a very analytical sound i don't think its right for me.
I want something thats decently balanced and has good highs/mids while still making good lows (in other words, something that does not ruin the bass)
oh yeah, my music is all 44.1 with very few 24/96 stuff i don't care too much about. the DACs can upsample, i don't care too much, but i prefer if the DAC plays the music at its native sample rate.
EDIT: Ended up buying the PS Audio III DAC - pics at the end! THANKS!!! <3
