I'm looking to upgrade so I can get the full potential out of my headphones (ATH-M50 and Grado SR80i). I will be using it on a desktop, so I dont need anything portable. Is the Schiit Modi and a DIY Objective 2 a good combo? I only want to spend around $150-190 so it seems good to me. Any other recomendations?

Yes. That would be a good combo. Or why not just go with the ODAC/Objective 2 if you are DIYing?
