Want to upgrade my PC system. Have been looking at dac/amp combos for my cans at my PC, and there are many good choices. But I am thinking about ditching my PC speakers for a significant upgrade there too (perhaps PSB bookshelf or Audioengine self-powered) and I want great sound out of those speakers too.
So, what do you PC audiophiles use for both headphones and good speaker sound? I have searched thru the forums but maybe not finding the right search terms.
Suggestions appreciated.

I'm currently using a receiver as my headphone and speaker amp at my computer

If you get self-powered speakers, then as long as your dac/amp has both a headphone and RCA/line out, you should be fine. If you're looking for something to power speakers as well, then your options are a little more limited. The only ones I know of that can do that are the Nuforce Icon and Travagan's Green.
