there actually was an offshoot of the original book/idea (using the jesus/magdalena/merowegians/stuarts angle) years before the davinci code:
the sierra PC adventure game "gabriel knight 3: blood of the sacred, blood of the damned"
dated game engine, but highly recommended for the content. the game fully acknowledged the original authors' input.
