Title says it all. But to explain: The D2 can do vidoe to a TV. If I'd solder the cable to only have a mini-jack out, wouldn't the D2 have a line out as well?

I'm pretty sure the TV out is only for video, it doesn't act as an audio line-out. The headphone output of the Cowon D2 is pretty clean though, it should function as well as the line out on most DAPs.

It would, but it would only be line-out for video, or your audio files converted to video, which would be way more effort than it is worth.

the A/V out is only video audio, not audio audio.
