i have a kenwood 5 disc cd player and it says that it has a 1 bit d/a converter and a 20 bit digital filter. is that a good thing and also is a d/a converter the same thing as a dac converter?

I can't answer the former -- the short answer is, it depends on how well it was implemented -- you tell us? The answer to the latter is yes, although DAC converter is kind of redundant, because DAC stands for Digital to Analog Converter. But we speak broken English here, so that don't matter none.
