Hi, these new Senns are not yet very popular here... Has anyone tried them? Impressions? Are they just the "old" cx400 with some cosmetic changes and a different model number?

I don't think anybody here has tried them yet, and that is perhaps because the old CX300 left a bad taste in many people's mouths. There have been rumors that these are just rebranded CX400s, but that is not for certain.

I like the CX300-II quite a lot. I'd say they are about 90% as good as the IE8s when the latter are working (which mine stopped doing). While the 8's are off to the factory my CX300-II's are filling in quite nicely. They aren't perfect, I have noticed bass overload distortion on some tracks the IE8 seemed to handle fine. And I am using a tip from the IE8 collection.

The overly peaky treble from my old CX300s is much ameliorated and the imaging is surprisingly good even compared to the IE8, though I am going by memory which may be faulty of course.
