I had received a pair of CX-300's off of ebay that turned out to be fake. The right earpiece would pop loudly whenever I inserted or adjusted it, I assume pressure buildup caused the thin plastic film on the driver to suck in or out and make a crinkly popping sound. It would drive me crazy so I decided to buy the real thing from Amazon. Well it turns out the real pair also pops if I am not careful when inserting or adjusting. Has anyone else experienced this with the CX-300? It is really distracting and drives me crazy.
I am neurotic, so of course I worry that the loud popping sound inside my ear could damage my hearing. Is it pretty much impossible for this to have any effect on my hearing?

"Yes, they do pop if you get an airtight seal as you push them in. This is normal and is reported by a good proportion of users."
