You guys can be pretty inventive, and come up solutions we hadn't considered before. Here's my project:

I use a 5.5g iPod with an Audio Technica ES7 headphone. I want a no-fuss, no-cost cable manager; Cable Yo-Yo is too bulky, and others overpriced. My best initial suggestion is to mod a plastic film container, but there must be something more elegant.

Suggestions?

You could just cut the cable and reterminate it. Im going to try and shave a couple of inches off of my im716.

I really like that idea a lot - really the best solution. The only drawback is that I'm unexperienced in soldering. (Once, I tried making my own interconnects, and the results weren't pretty or successful, even with a solder-less connection.) I may have to begin with throwaway earbuds and only then move up to the real thing.
