hey guys.. yester day i went to my nearest audiologist and took a ear impression to make a custom tip for my Westone 4.. so they made me a custom tip from vinyl ( acrylic ) .. it fits 100% but nw i feel theirs oo much bass and sound is nt as open as a foam tip..  very bass havey + transparency seems very low as well...  is theirs any particular reason for this???

I would say that you are now making a proper seal and not bleeding away bass energy.
 
Can you estimate whether the insertion depth is similar to using the foams?

The custom tips creates a tighter seal than foam, causing greater bass to sound more full?

dude.. left ear seems the same length as a foam tip.. but right ear?? dude its freaking long and twisty and bendy. i have a bizarre ear canal

+ i never loved bass too much .. tell u da truth i normally use  headphones ( W4 / Even the Ety er4)  with Bass Reducer EQ on my ipod classic

sounds right... Too good of a seal will always increase bass response and if you don't like that, you should really go back to the foams...
