Been scanning the site and decided to ask this question. Have a $400 or so budget. Looking for a keeper on the first shot. Favor balanced sound, with an emphasis on treble. Not bass shy, but the bass is there. Ideas?

If you buy a custom in this price range, most of the money will spend on the custom shell, and not on the internal parts. If you had problems with the fit, it may worth it (in this case you should increase your budget, and get ready, CIEM making procedure can be very long, and surprisely expensive), but otherwise just go to westone 4(r) or heir 4ai.
