When I called awhile ago, I got the same price ($380). I believe Hipposaudiovideo is the lowest around as far as I know. If I come across a cheaper place, I will let everyone know.

HI: The NAD C542 HDCD player cost at most places 500.00 and only a year ago cost 1000.00 so 380.00 is a fantastic price. The NAD needs no upgrade and the HDCD is a big plus. The red book play is great with great detail and great bass. I am totally satisfied with my NAD and no longer look at sources. If you put in a HDCD you are in for a real treat.

Finally, for the first time in History, us Aussie's can get a sharper price on a great piece of audio equipment. Based on the current exchange rate I managed to get the NAD C542 for US$24 cheaper than mentioned here. This was due in great part to Silencer negotiating a head fi bulk buy.

Hate to think of the shipping cost to get one to you though...
