I think it is time for me to try new headphones and I need some recommendation.

I want to try something different than what I currently have in my signature. I will sell my Denon and try to buy something in the 200-300$ league.

Do you have anything to recommend me ? I'm open to anything full-size, no iem. I listen mostly to Rock, metal and trance.

Hope you can help me find some good idea !

Have you tried any sennheiser's before? I've heard the HD580 which is quite good and you can get the HD600 for $300 on amazon and the HD650 for $350.

The D2000 is on my list of cans to try out sometime. As is the hd650.

Edit:
I should have mentioned that I like my K601 more than the HD580 though I still haven't sat down and done a proper comparison. Also I enjoy my SR225 more than either of those cans even though the other 2 are much more detailed.

Grados for rock and metal are a good bet. You could also consider some Beyers DT Series. Ultrasones might be worth considering. For trance, I think it's hard to beat the Ultrasone sound.

Looking at your sig I'd say try a pair of either sennheisers, ultrasones or beyers.

I don't think I will get another grado as I already have HF-2 and MS1. Beyers look like it might be fun. What could be the most different from my current headphones between all beyers model ?

I don't know much about ultrasones, what could be recommended ?

The HD650 are on my list to try at least once. Might get them if there is good deal in Canada.

Have you tried the Shure SRH-840 yet?

So far they're my favorite out of everything i've tried. I like them more then the Beyer DT-990, DT-880 32ohm, D2000, ATH-AD700 and even the Sennheiser HD-650.

I don't yet know if i'll like them more then the AKG 701/702. I'll know soon since i'm returning the DT-880 for the AKG 702. I previously had the 701, but I can't really compare them right now.

It's too bad they're ruined by being so uncomfortable and heavy.

A friend on mine bought the Shure SRH440, but I did not like them much. Maybe the 840 are better. Will try to see if there is some local available

So much to read... I will try to take all of these into consideration. Maybe I will try whatever someone has to trade with me for my Denon D2000 !

Say mate, how's the HP100 working out for you? One of the purchases I'm looking into right now.

It's a really nice amp. Really worth the price. I like it more then the LD MKIII. You should buy it if you see one in FS forum !
