Connecting it to the stock USB type-A / mini-B cable is like throwing a hot dog down a hall way. Accidental disconnection is recurrent problem. How do others deal with this? thanks

Ended up trying a blue dragon A -> mini-B cable based on Moon's suggestion that the monoprice stock cable just wasn't up to spec. The blue dragon ended up fitting less tightly than the stock. In the end I think the only solution is to go with something that uses a different connector, such as the Herus, which has a normal USB type-B. Now its a choice between the Herus and the Herus+
