hi guys, i want to start to produce music for fun.
i got cubase but the program gets some serious delays when i use my usb dac, audiogd nfb3.
this doesnt happen when i use the onboard audio, but then it gets some error saying i cant record or something.
can i fix this without getting a new soundcard?

edit: cubase 5 windows 7 64bit, i also have an xfi xtreme gamer, could it work? its not plugged in and i cba installing drivers just to try, just reformatted and i want too keep it clean :)

It should work with X-Fi ... also with onboard sound as well but, on both cases, you need to unplug the USB audio interface while working with cubase.

On Cubase,
- select the audio device and set I/O ports for it (Audio Device options)
- select low latency driver mode (ASIO, WASAPI (if supported)) ... with onboard sound, you need to install Asio4All since ASIO wrapper(s) Cubase installed is/are not very good
- set the project samplerate by the selected audio interface (Project options)
