Is it just me or is the panasonic ct570 quieter than other portable cd players? Don't get me wrong, the sound quality is great, but the volume seems considerably lower than others. With a 9 mw headphone amp i thought that if anything the ct570 would be louder than other pcdps. Comments?

I don't remeber the specs on the 570, but 9mW on it's self means nothing at all. hell, you could say they were 100 mW and measure it so that that specific figure would roll out.

but they could be a ibt quieter than other players. depends on what you compare it too. also, volume 9 on one unit isn't volume 9 on another. 9 out of 20 on one isn't even equal to 9/20 on another.

if it is not loud enough however, you're either useing hard-to-drive-and-would-rather-have-an-amp headphones, or you're going deaf.

Are you using the line out or the headphone out? The line out is definately lower in volume and is at a set level.

I've noticed that too. My friend's other Sony player (no clue what it is, just probably one of those found at Best Buy's) plays music MUCH louder than my ct570. Let's just say we were experimenting with paper speakers, and needed the loudest source possible

My 570 drives Senns 497s, Grado SR80s and Koss Porta Pros with plenty of volume. Now if your using HD600s with your 570, (which I have not tried) I suspect you would have trouble.

are you using it with the remote? please note that the 570 unit uses digital volume, and the remote uses separate analog volume. This means that both act independently.

Step 1: Plug power cable into wall. Step 2: Plug other end of power cable into....umm.... Step 0.5: Order something to power with power cable.

hmm, i'm probably going deaf, haha. i'm using it with mx500's, v6's, and sr80's. Its not like i have to turn it up to 10 or anything its just like 7 on the 570 seems like 5 or 6 on my old one. Not really that big of a deal, i was just curious...

Old players are loud and drain batteries pretty quick. The ct570 is louder then a lot of new players but it does distort at max so no point in cranking it all the way. :p

So what I'm trying to say is... well I have no idea so I'll just keep on rambling... :p
