i have been trying to mod my ultrasone dj-1's to not have such piercing highs.
i have broken all the wiring connection... and my resoldering attempts have failed. i e-mailed ultrasone about the problem to see if they'd resolder them for a fee...
if this cannot be done i will need some decent sounding cans...
will the k-81 dj compare to them well sonically? i want a very tight, detailed and controlled sound. much like the ultrasone, but with less highs...
if i did get the k-81 dj i would be making some new ear pads for them to make them circumaural. how much will this screw with the sound?
will the k-81 compare? are they in the same league? the most i will spend is $50... i shouldn't even be spending that really. i'm guessing that $50 phones will not compare well to $190 phones... *cry*
is there any place to find a good deal on the er6i? could they be had for that cost?
