Hi to everyone

I have read this term several times when reading reviews about multiple balanced armature IEMs. What does exactly it mean?

Thanks in advance!

a crossover divides the frequency ranges between the multiple drivers in the iem. for example bass and mids to one driver and treble to another.

I see now, thanks for the explanation.

Now, what is phisically a crossover? A bunch of electronic components?

It could be electronic for sure...  The Wikipedia article is a little more detailed though as the entire thing is a lot more complicated on how they do it.  There was another good link about them on head-fi, but I can't seem to find that link.  If I do, I'll post.  Look at the passive vs active part.

EDIT: I think this was it: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OFBagYcLMKU/learn/learningcenter/car/crossovers_faq.html
