Crossfeed for games?

For first-person shooters and the like where sound positioning is key, would you turn on crossfeed (an older AirHead model feeding HD580's) or not? On the one hand crossfeed would muddy the signal; on the other, it would likely increase the realism of the way your ears perceive the signal. Or am I totally off base here?
There's also the issue of setting the soundcard to headphone mode vs. setting it to speaker mode and using crossfeed....

I don't use it and games are perfect for me. You don't need it at all.

Since crossfeed pushes the soundstage out in front of you, I find it hurts more than helps with games. The extreme stereo separation is what makes headphones perfect for gaming.

Get an x-fi and use CMSS3D. After using simulated surround, 2D sound is fatiguing and disgusting in games
