Hi All,

I currently have a plain jane Audigy -> SR-60 which has really whet my appetite for quality sound. It sounds pretty good, but I'm starting to feel the itch to upgrade. =)

Anyway, what do you guys think of this setup?

EM-U 1212M -> Headphile EM-U series cable (probably from the CPU series) -> Gilmore Lite (new version) -> Sen HD-650s.

1212M: $200
Headphile cable: ~$50
Gilmore Lite: $250
Sen HD-650: $350

Total: ~$850

Could I do better in that price range or get a lot more for a little extra cash? I mainly listen to New Age and Symphonic stuff.

I think most all of what you're buying are great bang/buck items, only the headphones could be argued, but since I've never compared them to the 580 or 600, I'm in no position to do that

Blacksilver / Blackcoral: $95
ASL OTL MKIII: $360 or HP100A (a DIY chinese amp): $120
Grado SR 225: $190 or Sen 600: $xxx + cables $xxx or CD3000: $400


Cheapest combo: 1212m + Blacksilver + HP100A / ampless + Grado 225 = $600

Still, I find the 225 more involving, and I'd rather have the 600's for much less price but so little difference. I say, HAVE ALL OF THEM
