Under surround mixer, what do you mean by Bass -NO, Treble -NO?

I don't see how you guys run Bass/Treble at 50% in Surround Mixer! When I do this, I can barely hear the music! There is NO treble, or bass!

Audigy2 SE / NX

Both are just straight through - upsampled to 48khz by ALSA, no bass or treble fiddling... Line-out to my Sansui AU-G11X amplifier, headphones powered through the headphone socket on the amp.

Loudness feature on the amp is never used on headphones, but is used at low(pre 9-10 o'clock) volumes through the speakers. After around 9.30 or so, the bass tends to get a bit boomy so off it goes, and the natural sound shines through

.

No need for it with headphones, they sing without any artificial trickery. But they do seem a tad 'flat' at lower volumes, but any fiddling and they seem unnatural.

Maybe it's your hardware ... 'incompatibility'.

Are you using DirectSound --> check how Windows Audio: SRC quality and HW acceleration are set --> MAX both settings for best quality.

If it's lack of deep bass --> try Bass Boost.

Seriously, things turned to 50% make my MS-1s sound like $10 cans. I hope I haven't ruined my ears, and it's just something else with my system...

Which audio player are you using?

Do you have some processing activated there (WOW in WMP, etc.)?

Which sources you are listening (CD, MP3, etc.)?

If youre listening original CD's, have you connected CD/DVD-ROM player through analog cable (are you able to connect it digitally (cable free, see on Device Manager, CD/DVD player settings))?
