Hi Sedare38,

According to this article, you should slide the switch to 8 ohms.

There is a blog post on how to use the Sound Blaster Roar as an mini active subwoofer if users find the bass of the E-MU XM7 not adequate.

A dedicated active subwoofer will be recommended.

I know it has been a couple years from your post, but I found this other Creative SBX7 Fequently Asked Questions document stating that you should put 6 ohm speakers to the 4 ohm setting.  ??

http://img.creative.com/files/guide/X7/SBX7_FAQ_EN.pdf

But the other link the person above put, does say to put the X7 with XM7 to "8 ohms to match the speakers ohms"  However the XM7 speakers are not 8 ohm, so it doesn't "match".   Does anyone know if the XM7's use to be 8 ohm and the newer models are now 6 ohms?

They conflict themselves on the two different official Creative documents. Any thoughts?  Would it hurt the XM7 speakers to run them on 4 ohm?
