Hello everyone,

I've been looking into making a cheap-ish computer listening set-up. I've been looking at this Creative External Soundcard and was just wondering how these sound for the price. At 70 dollars CAD, it seems like a fairly priced soundcard, since everything else I've been seeing is 100 USD+.

I'm wondering if I will enjoy this soundcard as cheap as it is. I want be able to listen through headphones, as well as run it into a reciever (possibly 5.1) so I can watch DVDs through something other then my headphones or my crappy laptop speakers.

So essentially what I am asking is:
Will this soundcard be the "be all, end all of suck"?
and
Will this soundcard even work with OSX? (I know it makes no metion of it, however I know that most USB devices work with OSX without hassle)

I am using the setup now as I type. Audiophiles may not like it but for $50 for the module, I am more than satisfied on my laptop.

Occasionally scratchy sound as the laptop CPU strains (using Pentium 300Mhz CPU..).

hope this is helpful.
