Can only mean one of two things then

~ bad rips

~ resource issues, try rebooting and only running your tunes player as the only application.

its not resource issues. I have a macbook pro with the quad- core i7 and 8gb of RAM.. most likely bad rips.

by the way, thank you guys for helping me out here, its much appreciated.

Except it could be the onboard/port of the macbook.

Try another source. Do you have another CD player some where? Surely you do. Check that CD on there.

Very best,

Well i just moved over some of the .wav and apple lossless files over to my other macbook to see if the problem was my macbook pro. and it turns out it clipped in the exact same spots, in fact even more than on my macbook pro. So im thinking the fault is to the producer or the mastering engineer. Because most of the songs that crackle are electronic songs. And the way many masterers "master" electronic music is just to compress and maximize to 0db.
