(look for M2 in menu)

Basically seems to be a C2 but with;

a) 90hr battery life vs 55
b) full range of tactile buttons (placed logically and better than most DAPs)
c) Jet Effect 5 vs 3
d) slightly lighter and smaller

I'm pondering a few things, like screen resolution and type (looks resistive again to me), and whether we'll still encounter the dreaded 8000 file limit :frowning2:

Looks like another recycling of C2, D2, D2+...

Absolutely no interest if they don't raise the internal memory above 32 Gb (plus reasonable file limit), allows for micro SD-XC use (128Gb) and upgrade the 10 years old resistive screen.
The only good point is the form factor, which was the main interest of the C2 at the time.

I somewhat agree, but for those currently hunting for a D20 or a C2 (which seem hard to find in my location) this looks better. Proper tactile buttons and 90hrs battery life in a slightly smaller form factor isn't a bad recycle. The screen does look resistive tho (kinda matte looking isn't it) and the UI is the same as C2 so I'm guessing the file limit restrictions are the same also...

OOHHHHHHHHHH they put in more hardware buttons! Love that. Now that throws a spanner in the works of my portable audio plan.

I hate how stingy manufacturers (especially smartphones that cost upwards of $500-700) can't put in a few more programmable extra buttons.

This might be an interesting device once we know the screen type and the file limit (or absence of it).

Because all I need is an audio player, I never bought any of Cowon's Android players (and I love Android!).

*fingers crossed*

U do realize this is not an Android player?

That was my point actually. Android is perfect for a smartphone but Android PMPs have an average battery life. And I don't need apps on my audio player, I have my Nexus 5 for that.

When Cowon use their own proprietary OS, it's much better, like this M2 with its 90 hour battery life or my current J3 with 40ish.

I hate my C2's screen so much, I feel like just throwing the player at times. The touch is not responsive, scrolling becomes problem. Plus the screen is bit inside which makes more frustrating to touch in the corners. The plastic is rubbish, its bend over the time. I hope M2 is an upgrade over these things. It would be great if sound becomes more fuller as I find mids to be bit thinner especially with BBE settings.
There is Fiio X1 also coming for may be lesser price.
