The latest Cowon A2 firmware FINALLY fixed the bug where MP3 files encoded with --vbr-new with newer versions of the LAME encoder were constantly skipping. With the v1.91 firmware (which can be found here), this problem is gone, and I can finally recommend this as an excellent audio player. The sound quality has been excellent, but the LAME vbr-new problem has made me wary of recommending it for music. Granted, it does also play FLAC and Ogg files beautifully, and does a great job with video files, but so much music is encoded with LAME that it was a glaring flaw. Well, not anymore!!!

Highly recommended for a single, does it (almost) all solution. Does *NOT* need an amp (using an amp is actually very difficult), uses a Wolfson DAC, and the headphone out works beautifully with IEMs (no hiss at all!). Great little device!
