has anyone tried the aria with beyer dt 770s or 880s?

i just got an aria today and love it. it's great with the 650s, but if i decide to purchase another pair of headphones it would probably be the 770s.

just wondering how well these cans go with the amp.

thanks.

I do most of my listening with NAD 505 cdp -> Aria -> Hd650 / HF-1 / DT 770.

I adore the way the 650 and HF-1 sound with the Aria (with or without crossfeed). With the DT770, crossfeed is a must for me. I don't know whether it's the phones or if I have a sensitivity to upper mids and highs, but the crossfeed seems to tame some of the frequencies that fatigue my ears quickly. The sound itself is very fun and detailed, but it's hard for me to listen too long without the crossfeed.

The DT770, while very capable, really isn't in the same league as the HD650. I bought it for use as a closed can when I want some isolation without resorting to my Ety's. I very rarely reach for it first.

I can't provide any personal experience with the DT880 and Aria but try the search function as it's been discussed a few times already.

i'm leaning towards the dt770 at this point just cuz of its bass.

sounds great with my 880. for some reason the aria fixes all my gripes about the 880. although I think the aria is better matched with the k701
