I actually have one on my bench at work. Great for SMD parts, as long as they are appropriate values, especially caps. I work in microwave frequencies, so this thing isn't that useful when it comes to measuring caps in the pF range. (Measurement frequency is too low for really small values.) Nice little gadget for more normal applications, though.

If you want to just get the value of the resistor, it's OK, but it doesn't have the accuracy for matching. If you need to sort SMD resistors, you can get tweezer probes for your DMM. Pamona makes them, I think they're like $30 or so. I have a set at work, and the do come in handy sometimes.
