had my 595s for half a year - really love them, there my first high-end phones and they have been great with my emu 0404 usb, esp with female vocals (bjork), full-surronded ambient/rock (sigur ros), crazy soundstage and strange noises (radiohead, MIA, lots others). And

I dont want to spend much more money. If i can trade my hd 595s plus maybe 50 dollors, can i get a lot better? open or closed doesn't matter. confort would be nice

So why are you considering an upgrade? What about getting yourself an amp?

With HD595 it is a better idea to upgrade the headphone than adding an amplifier.

To the OP: You won't really do much with just a $50 more, you would be sidestepping to different flavors. I suggest you first figure out what you want to do with the sound, where do you want to improve (for example: hd595 was also my first headphone, and I was unsatisfied with its instrument separation and bass response).
