Hey all,
I'm new to posting but have been reading various threads at head-fi for a while now. I'm considering picking up the MM-1s as I'm looking for a good quality set of speakers for my desk. I had a few questions regarding them though. I listen to a mixture of music at a variety of qualities (minimum 320 Mp3, some flac and some wav) and have heard inconsistent things regarding the MM-1s and their ability to play music that isn't CD-quality so I'm wondering, firstly, if this is the system for me? I'm a student, so I don't have a lot of money but I'm not opposed to paying a decent amount for a good quality product that will last a while; I also don't have the ability to get masses of CD-quality music or a dedicated DAC. Secondly, I'm wondering if another system would be more appropriate for me (I've heard good things about the Focal XS 2.1 but haven't had a chance to listen to them)? Further suggestions under $500 would be appreciated.
