For some reason it refuses to connect with the device. It's fine when I connect the E17 into a laptop usb port or if I connect the E17 > 2.0 Hub > 3.0 hub. But can't get it to work E17 > 3.0 hub. Any suggestions?

Should be compatible. What is the cable usb 2.0 or 3.0? Try another cable. Any drivers for the 3.0 hub? Restart the computer. gL.

Ah thanks. I thought the cables don't matter because it's backwards compatible ?

Some motherboards need to have separate USB 3.0 drivers installed.
Check the motherboard's manufacturer website for USB 3.0 drivers.

USB 3.0 ports are fully backwards compatible, any USB 2.0 cable will work fine. In fact, there is no USB 3.0 cable that will even fit in the E17 as of right now. Using a 2.0 cable, I connect my E17 just fine to USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1.

There is no difference to be gained in using the 3.0 port, as even 1.1 has enough throughput to handle it. That being said, if you have to use a 3.0 port, it should work just fine with the 2.0 cable, and I'd suggest you either have a faulty cable or faulty drivers.
