I was wondering if replacing the existing connecting cord on the Grado SR-325's with the Cardas or Stefan Audio Art Equinox would result in a performance gain? Or is the existing Grado cord so good that there will not be a significant difference?

Thanks for the help,

HB

Welcome to Head-Fi Hector

The Cardas and Equinox cables are made specifically for the Sennheiser HD580 and HD600 and have the proprietary Sennheiser plugs for the earcups. They will not work with any of the Grado headphones because a different style of plug is used.

You might want to take a look at the Headroom site or contact Headroom to see if there are any cable options or upgrades for your Grados. Good Luck.

the senn replacement cable sells for ~$25. that does not say it's bad, but does not say much good for it either.
The grado cable is supposed to have been made out of better conductor.
As far as I know, there is no other way of replacing the cable other than opening the cups and going in with a soldering iron.
Hey, if you do that, post it at headwize.com so it gets added to the grado modifications page.
