I see that there are a couple of DACs that connect to the iPhone (Algorythm Solo and HRT iStreamer). This tells me that the digital information is available at the iPhone connector. I already have a portable DAC, so I was wondering whether anyone is manufacturing an iPhone > DAC connector. Optical or USB would be fine on the DAC end.
Does anyone know anything about this?
I do have a Samsung SBH650 Bluetooth-to-headphone device. This is another way of getting the music out of an iPhone and bypassing its internal DAC and headphone amplifier. Incidentally the headphones that are bundled with the Samsung are very good for the bundled price, and I'm happy to use them, even though I've got quite a few Sennheiser in-ear headphones.
