I have the Audio Technica AD2000's and want to buy the AT-HA25d Amp/DAC and use my computer as a source. Apparently it uses optical cables though. My current sound card (X-Fi XtremeMusic) only has 3.5mm outputs and some large port which looks like a VGA or DVI connection almost.

What options do I have besides selecting another Amp/DAC with a usb connection? I don't want to use the X-Fi anymore, it doesn't even sound as good as my iPod (likely because of electrical interference from the rest of the computer.

Well, you can always pick up a different sound card that will allow for direct connection to your amp/dac of choice. Check out the Computer-as-Source forum for some ideas on different cards. There are many that receive much better praise than the XtremeMusic anyways.
