I think this may have probably been discussed a dozen or more times, considering how popular this sound card is, but I have not been able to locate a solution via the search function, so please bear with me...

Here's what I'm trying to do:

1. Use Wolfson DAC for stereo analog output with no resampling

2. Receive audio from TV card via either line in, CD in or aux in
-> on a related note, which input is probably the cleanest?

Here's what i don't know:

1. Which driver should i be using? (latest is 4.73b)

2. How should i set up the driver?

3. Which input on av710 should be receiving the signal from the TV card for cleanest sound?

I would appreciate it so much if someone can help me with this. Thanks!

Well, any driver will work (I use the new), and you can connect the tv card to the line in. However, I think you are mistaken. The Wolfson DAC (or any other DAC) converts digital to analog audio. Your tv card sends analog audio to your soundcard, and this will (most likely) pass through with not much processing to your stereo out. Don't expect too much, because tv sound is usually bad.

i thought that in hi quality mode, the line in couldnt be used to route to the wolfson dac...

thats why i route my tv tuner to my nvidia onboard sound

I set my settings as follows, based on what I've read:

normal 2 channel operation
enable digital output
PCM only
auto

when I connect the TV card signal to my line in, I can't get any sound at all. I have already unmuted my line in and have already selected it as my recording source. What am I doing wrong?
