confirmation about Mains voltage in america

so, when looking at a normal PC jack, the left prong is the "hot line" aka +, and the right is the negative, neutral line right? Or do I have it backwards

Wiring up my soha right now... don't wanna fry anything

wait.. no... The IEC holder i have has a fuse going across the other one... I'm assuming the fuse goes across the hot line...so....

Left and right are not a good way to describe Line / Neutral as the connector could be mounted more than one way or looked at from the front or the back. Besides Plug and Socket would be opposite.

I wouldn't count on the fuse. Best to look for L, N and E marks by the connectors.
