I have some mp3's and my computer won't let me delete them. For example, I have the John Coltrane atlantic boxed set ripped into 7 different folders for the 7 different discs. If windows, when I select "View" "Details", only one of the files has the id tag that shows up in windows. That 1 file will play. None of the others will play or even call up iTunes. They also can't be deleted or even renamed. It doesn't say that any other program is using them. Ugh.

Any help is appreciated

theres a freeware program called unlocker, that should allow you to unlock the files and then you chould be able to edit them or whatever you wish.

give that a go

actually even if the program that opned the files is closed, the file may have open "handles", and will be considered locked. hence unlocker. no need for safe mode

Eh I'd just go with deleting them in safe mode. Probably easiest.

You could also use command line (start > run > type cmd) or use a live linux distro with ntfs reading/writing (assuming you're using NT).
