hi guys,

I am looking to buy USB DAC/ amplifier for watching TV/ movies on my desktop/ laptop.
Headphone: AKG K701, Sennheiser hd 650
Budget: < 200 USD

what do you guys think of (other devices are highly welcomed.)
1. Fiio E10k
2. Schiit stack. (Magni + Modi 2)

Both the 62-Ohm AKG K701 and 300-Ohm Sennheiser HD650 like a lot of juice to sound their best.
If the DAC/amp is to be used with a laptop, does the DAC/amp need to be portable?
Or as your thinking of getting the Schiit stack, your looking just to use it around your home?

Between those go with the stack. Separate power supplies for the DAC and amp in addition to great customer service.

For that money you'd be better off with the Schiits. Magni3 has more than eenough power for either of those headphones. Anything more expensive and you're paying more for lower noise or lower/different distortion characteristics than outright power increase.
