Hi all:

I'm putting together a surround system in my bedroom. Right now I stream music from my computer to my office stereo through my 1212m (they're in the same room). I'd like to be able to hear that same music in the bedroom with the surround system about 50 feet away.

Is there a "wired" way to do this?

Is there a "wireless" way where I won't lose sound quality?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Anybody?
Could I use a 50' Toslink from the 1212m to the new receiver? Or coax?

An optical s/pdif is your best bet.

Failing that, you can get a cheap usb sound card that'll do decent 24-bit 96khz sound and run a mix of 16' active usb extension cables and 16' usb extension cables the length of the run you need. (the "active" cables have a built in one port hub that regenerates the usb signal). two passive and one active cable will probably work, and should cost ~$15.

Routing can be a bit of a pain. Worst come to worst, Virtual Audio Cables will give you a very very crude patchbay solution in windows so you can redirect the sound as needed. Linux has had JACK for a long time, which offers a bit less hacky a solution, if Linux is your bag.
