No set budjet. I'm buying three. I don't exactly have to buy 3 exact ones. I can maybe buy 2 decent ones and one really good one. I'm looking to spend around $60CDN but I don't mind going up or down. Just looking for quality. Something I don't need to upgrade.

I'm no expert on headsets, but I have found that most don't really have good headphones unless you go to the higher end ones (Beyer DT290) and then you're paying big for a good pair of headphones and a really nice mic (around $200US ?? )

You may be better off getting a good pair of headphones and a cheapie lapel or neck-mic, but I could be wrong

I use a cheapie from Jaycar for playing games like cs.

Works really good.

So you think I should just buy a mic?

Please recommend a headset w/mic or a standalone mic so I get some idea on what to go with whichever way I decide. Thanks

headset mics are terrible...get a clip on mic...has better performance and doesnt get in the way.

Lemmie find the part number when i get home.

It costs about 25 bux aussie for the clip on mic.
Sound quality is better than most mics that come with headsets.

ppl keep saying in cs how good the voice is

Does anyone actually have this phone? Seen one? Wore one?

Edit: dt290...I found 2 on b&h, but I'm confoosed about the "bare cable" thing.

I use a plantronics headset and the mic is crystal clear when using teamspeak for quake3. I can't understand what the other players say though, cos they use crappy mics
