My set up is Laptop > Arcam rDAC > Marantz PM6004 > Monitor Audio BX2 speakers
he issue is that audio is noticeably louder on the right hand side, the left side makes sudden changes in volume every now and then, there's occasional crackling through the left as well and it cuts out on that side completely. Normally I can get round this by shifting the balance on the amp but it's still irritating.
I've taken the amp in to be looked at and nothing wrong was found there and I know it isn't the speakers because the fault still occurs through headphones. I think it's either the DAC or the computer itself. I would think it was the DAC because that's where all the actual processing goes on (as far as I know) but when I put headphones into the computer directly the audio is shifted to the right.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?
Thanks
