I am not sure if I should post in this category. But....

I found that a lot of times reviews were for individual components like the portables, headphones, headphone amps.

However, being audio components, all of which will have compromises. Being able to match different components will help cover up certain of the compromises and make the portable system sound balanced.

Is it possible to compile a list of opinions of which portables will match which headphones with/without amps.

Or has this been already done before.

I find the following to match. Given my limited experience with portables.

Sony 465, DJ-50 with Sennheiser
I find the slightly bright nature and slight recess mids to match with the sonys which has a warmer sounding midrange and a smoother higher end.

Panasonic 570 with Koss KSC 35
The panasonic seems to sound a little lean with the senn 497, but when I purchased the Koss KSC 35 it seems that the again the warmer sounding Koss to cancel the lean sound of the Panasonic.

I dont have any experience with portable amps as yet......
